The MenCare Global Meeting 2017 – opening with remarks on engaging men in gender equality and fatherhood by Ms. Brankica Jankovic, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality at 9:00 CEST on June 8 – will bring together nearly 100 activists, academics, and practitioners over three days (June 8–10) from across 50 countries to share and exchange new findings, lessons learned, and reflections from the field of engaging men as fathers and caregivers for gender equality. The meeting is jointly hosted by Equimundo, Centar E8, and the MenCare Steering Committee members, Sonke Gender Justice, Save the Children, and MenEngage Alliance, in Belgrade, Serbia.

Findings from the State of the World’s Fathers: Time for Action 2017 report will be revealed on the second day of the meeting, Friday, June 9, from 9:00–10:00 CEST. The second-ever State of the World’s Fathers report draws from nearly 100 research studies and reports, with data from nearly every country where it is available, to reveal what has stalled progress toward global gender equality and to lay out a bold agenda for men and boys doing fully 50 percent of the world’s unpaid care work. The report is a MenCare advocacy publication, produced by Equimundo.
