MenEngage Global Symposium in New Delhi calls us to work with men and boys for gender justice

A participant at the MenEngage Global Symposium in Delhi holds a sign she wrote that reads "A caring father is one who sits and listens patiently"This November brought together more than 1200 gender equality experts, advocates, researchers, and interested individuals from 94 countries to New Delhi, India for the second-ever MenEngage Global Symposium. This year’s theme, “Men and Boys for Gender Justice,” aimed to promote a holistic understanding of how men and boys – including fathers – can contribute to gender justice in a globalizing world.

At the MenEngage Symposium, MenCare participated in presentations and workshops about fathers’ involvement in maternal and child health, men’s participation in domestic and care work, and creative entry points to getting dads involved around the world. In a daylong advocacy workshop, MenCare introduced its forthcoming State of the World’s Fathers report, which will be launched in June 2015. The campaign also hosted an interactive booth throughout the symposium, drawing in a diversity of individuals to share how and why they support gender equality.
