Americas
In the Americas, MenCare partners are engaging men as caregivers and as fathers through powerful media campaigns, high-impact program development, and local- and national-level advocacy initiatives in 12 countries. In Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Uruguay, our partners focus on issues ranging from violence against women and child protection to maternal health and prenatal care.
Across the region, MenCare partners have worked to engage thousands of men in active fatherhood, from prenatal care through delivery, childbirth, and their children’s early years. In Brazil and Nicaragua, powerful films tell the stories of men who are acting as role models in supporting men’s involvement in the family and in helping men who have experienced violence and sexual exploitation to heal. From Guatemala to Chile, work with the health sector has led to positive institutional changes supporting men’s involvement in pre- and post-natal care.
