How far have we come since Beijing? Twenty years after this Fourth World Conference
on Women, no country has yet come close to the envisioned gender equality in all dimensions of life. This 59th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women will look at the challenges that affect the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and will address the opportunities for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women in the post-2015 development agenda.

This MenCare+ parallel event will focus on the root causes of gender inequality and will showcase opportunities for achieving gender equality through engaging men. We will share the impact that our work with men has had in four countries across three continents: South Africa, Rwanda, Indonesia, and Brazil.
